A few months back, I bought my first Golden Goose sneakers (which I originally featured in this post), and have been asked a lot about them ever since. So many that I decided it was finally time to do a full write-up! I’ve also worn them enough now that I feel like I have a good grip on their quality, and a bunch of related details about them, which you’ll see me go more into detail about.

Are they true to size?
Yes, they do run true to size, at least for me.
Since they keep their shape and half sizes aren’t available, I’d choose the larger option.
Are they comfortable?
They felt good right away. No-show socks help with the break-in period, especially since my feet get sweaty. High-end Italian leather construction, so it’s much more pleasant than breaking in synthetic materials. Also, they’re already softened so your feet just adjust easily.
How do they perform over time?
They look worn from the start, I didn’t worry about getting them dirty. I’ve worn them all over the city, and I’m impressed with the durability. Nothing has torn, and the leather hasn’t stretched. Since the aesthetic is distressed, I can’t even tell if there’s new wear and tear.
How do they compare to other sneakers?
These are the best sneakers I own. I love my Vejas and Tretorns, but Golden Goose wins in both comfort and quality. They include a built-in arch bump that adds a little height — making your legs look longer. Also, they’re handmade in small batches, so each pair is one of a kind. And the sparkle on mine? Next-level.
Would you recommend them?
Totally! Just try not to pay full price. They’re not cheap, so getting them discounted is worth it. Still, I think they’re worth a few hundred bucks, especially if you get a pair you love. Mine have pink glitter, but a low-key version would also be smart.
